Dr. Glynn is Health Sector Partner at EY Ireland. A physiotherapist and medical doctor, Ronan is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health Medicine, at the RCPI. Prior to joining EY, Ronan worked as Deputy Chief Medical Officer (CMO) at the Department of Health in Ireland, was a member of the team tasked with leading the national response to COVID-19 and was Acting CMO for six months of the pandemic. During his time as Deputy CMO, Ronan established and chaired a Steering Group for a National Vaccine Alliance and executed policy decisions to provide the meningococcal ACWY vaccine to adolescents and extension of the HPV immunisation programme to include boys. Ronan is Adjunct Full Professor at the UCD School of Business.

Darren Stephens is a seasoned leader with extensive experience spanning pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, infection prevention, and healthcare services across Europe, including the NHS and Ireland’s HSE. At Radiobotics, Darren drives strategic partnerships and commercial activities, focusing on advancing the adoption of AI-driven solutions in healthcare.
Before joining Radiobotics, Darren spearheaded the EU commercial business at Qure.ai, where he developed growth strategies, expanded market presence, and built high-performing teams in healthcare and radiology AI. His leadership portfolio also includes serving as UK and Ireland Country Manager at Everlight Radiology, one of the fastest-growing global teleradiology providers, and managing Point of Care and Laboratory Solutions for Roche Diagnostics in Ireland. Earlier in his career, Darren honed his expertise in sales and account management with Pfizer and Ecolab.
Darren serves as Chief Growth Officer for the American Irish Medical Summit, a collaborative initiative between RCSI and Northwestern University, driving thought leadership in ethical AI for healthcare.
PGEU Senior Professional Affairs Advisor
Jorge Batista is the Senior Professional Affairs Advisor of the Pharmaceutical Group of the European Union (PGEU), representing the voice of community pharmacists in Brussels. He represents PGEU and European Community Pharmacists in different international fora and is a member of the European Medicines Agency (EMA) Healthcare Professionals Working Party.
Before joining PGEU, Jorge was the Secretary General of the Portuguese Pharmaceutical Society, having also occupied the position of International Affairs Lead, and Pharmacist responsible for the Professional Development Programme in the same organisation.
He is currently a PhD candidate in International Health at the Portuguese Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, specializing in Health Policies and Development.
Irish Author and Medical Doctor
Dr Harry Barry is a highly respected Irish author and medic, with over three decades of experience as a GP. He has developed a holistic approach with an emphasis on the combination of Neuroscience concepts, lifestyle changes and where necessary drug therapy, with the application of simple CBT approaches to effectively manage these conditions. In relation to the workplace, he has spoken regularly about the importance of self-care, combining lifestyle changes and emotional resilience skills to improve our mental well-being and reduce the incidence of mental health difficulties.
Dr Barry is the author of numerous books such as Emotional Resilience, Anxiety and Panic, Toxic Stress, Self-Acceptance and Emotional Healing and many more addressing many different aspects of mental health.
He is also a regular contributor to national media, such as the Claire Byrne Today radio show, where he has taken part in a monthly slot for the past twelve years. His most recent book The Power of Connection was published in 2023 and got to number one in the non-fiction bestseller list.
Registrar and Chief Officer, PSI-The Pharmacy Regulator
Joanne Kissane is the Registrar and Chief Officer of the PSI. She was a member of the Department of Health’s Expert Taskforce to support the expansion of the role of pharmacy in Ireland. Joanne also oversaw the establishment of the current multi-stakeholder Pharmacy Workforce Working Group with the Department in line with recommendations in the PSI’s Workforce Intelligence report (2023). Before joining the PSI, Joanne was the Director and National Coordinator for APPEL, a joint office of the three Schools of Pharmacy in Ireland, which manages the student experiential learning placements for the integrated master’s degree programmes in pharmacy. She has worked in community pharmacy as a practising pharmacist and for seven years was the superintendent pharmacist for Lloyds Pharmacy before becoming Head of Operational Excellence for the organisation. Joanne was previously a member of the PSI Council.

Conall Ó Móráin is a business broadcaster, podcaster, and media commentator with a career spanning several decades in Irish media. He is the founder, producer, and host of “That Great Business Show,” a podcast that delves into the successes and insights of Irish businesses. This podcast was honoured as Ireland’s top business podcast by UCD Smurfit Business School. He is also producer of The Fifth Court legal podcast and of Transform Gov, a public sector digital transformation podcast.His company, The Media Group, is currently developing three other podcasts aimed at international audiences.
Conall previously worked as a stockbroker with ABN AMRO (Ireland) for eight years, during which he was appointed a director of the firm. He twice won the Sunday Tribune national share tipping competition. Conall’s just lucky I guess!
From 2005 to 2018, he presented the Sunday Business Show on Today FM, which became the station’s most-listened-to Sunday programme. Prior to this, he served as RTÉ’s first business correspondent, contributing to both television and radio.
His media commentary extends to platforms such as RTÉ, Raidió na Gaeltachta, TG4, BBC Northern Ireland, and various national press outlets. He was, for many years, Chair of the Dublin-based Ireland International Business Network, a leading global Irish business network. Superintendent Pharmacist and Director of Pharmacy, Boots Ireland
Caoimhe has been a key leader at Boots Ireland since 2007, advancing through key roles including Community Pharmacist, Area Pharmacy Manager, Flagship Store Manager, and Area Manager. As Director of Pharmacy and a member of the Boots Ireland Leadership Team, Caoimhe oversees the strategic and operational management of 90 community pharmacies and nearly 200 pharmacists nationwide. She is committed to delivering accessible, high-quality healthcare while driving innovation to meet the evolving needs of patients and communities. Caoimhe serves on the Walgreens Boots Alliance Global DEI committee, championing diversity and inclusion across the organisation. In 2022, she spearheaded the launch of Ireland’s first private HPV vaccination service at Boots and last year piloted an innovative Liver Scanning Service to raise awareness of liver health. Her efforts to destigmatise health issues such as menopause through media and events have further reinforced Boots Ireland’s leadership in patient care. In 2024, Caoimhe was thrilled to be elected Vice-President of the Irish Pharmacy Union.

Paul is the Chairperson of Medicines for Ireland and the Country Manager for Teva Pharmaceuticals Ireland. Medicines for Ireland represent the Generic, BioSimilar and Value added Medicines suppliers in Ireland, collectively they supply more than 60% of all Medicines supplied in the State. Paul brings with him a wealth of practical experience gained from over twenty years in various leadership roles in the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Patrick Wadding is the Managing Director and owner of the PCO Pharma Group, which trades as PCO Manufacturing in Ireland, NIP Pharma in Northern Ireland and Strathclyde Pharma in GB. PCO Pharma Group was established in 1986 and is today one of the leading parallel importers of pharmaceutical products into Ireland and supplies retail pharmacies, hospitals and wholesalers right across Ireland and the UK. Patrick began his career in PCO in 1990 while studying Commerce at UCD. After completing a Master’s Degree at the Michael Smurfit Business School he was appointed Managing Director of PCO Manufacturing in 1994. During his tenure as Managing Director, PCO has experienced significant growth, with a workforce of over 200 people. He is passionate about ensuring patient access to medicines and the positive outcomes that can be achieved for patients and healthcare providers from properly functioning medicine supply channels. He is currently the Chairperson of Affordable Medicines Ireland (AMI) and is a board member of Affordable Medicines Europe which is the European trade association representing parallel and independent distributors of pharmaceuticals. AMI is also one of the founder organisations and is represented on the Irish Medicines Verification Organisation (IMVO).

Jim McGrath is the Director of Commercial Policy for IPHA. A native of Tipperary, Jim spent over eight years at senior policymaking roles having been an advisor in three Government Departments and at the European Parliament. Prior to joining IPHA, he was public affairs director with corporate advisory firm Teneo where he led the public affairs practices of many of Ireland’s leading businesses including in the health and pharmaceutical sectors. He’s a passionate advocate of positive social impact businesses and purpose led commercial solutions to public policy challenges.

Emer Lane qualified in 2018 and has worked in community pharmacy since then. Emer is currently a Supervising Pharmacist in Boots Pharmacy in Blackpool, Cork City. She has had varied roles over the years including relief, support and now supervising pharmacist. Emer is a preceptor for students along with acting as an assessor for the PRE exam. Emer is also a member of the EPC committee of the IPU. She enjoys a diverse, dynamic and patient-centred work environment and welcomes the positive changes that are currently on route within community pharmacy.

Grace Filan is a fifth-year pharmacy student at Trinity College Dublin with diverse experience in both community and hospital pharmacy. Grace completed her fourth-year placement at the Irish Pharmacy Union and is currently undertaking her fifth year placement at the Blackrock Health Hermitage Clinic. She is passionate about student engagement and professional development and has actively been involved in the Irish Pharmacy Students’ Association, serving as Events and Campaigns Coordinator for the past two years.

Rothe House is the only example of an early 17th century merchant’s townhouse in Ireland. Rothe House was built between 1594 and 1610 by John Rothe Fitz Piers. The house is comprised of three buildings, one behind the other. The additional buildings were added in 1604 and 1610 to accommodate the merchant’s growing family of twelve children.
Rothe House Gardens opened in 2008 and are a reconstruction of an early 17th century urban walled garden. The half-acre gardens are also open to the public.
Woodstock Gardens and Arboretum in Inistioge, County Kilkenny dates back to 1740. The gardens were once known as some of the finest in Ireland. The development of the gardens occurred in the Victorian Period, but unfortunately, it fell into disrepair. The gardens and arboretum have been carefully restored by Kilkenny County Council and notably contain a selection of ‘champion’ trees. Woodstock overlooks the Nore River Valley and is the ideal spot for a daytrip.
